Who Are Littles?

Littles", or Little Brothers and Little Sisters are the children we serve. They are youth in Portage & Marquette Counties who want an adult friend to share experiences with them.  They are from all walks of life with a variety of skills and interests. The boys and girls range in age from 6-17.  Most of the unmatched children are boys with an average age of 10 years old.

Littles are often referred by teachers, parents, or other organizations.  Sometimes they call us themselves to ask for a Big!  The reasons they want to be involved may be social, academic, cultural, or behavioral.

Child enrollment typically involves a brief application and an interview with the parent and/or child.  The information gathered helps us to recommend a Big with whom the child and parent will feel safe and comfortable.
